illumiNITE is heading to Dayton, Ohio this weekend for the Air Force Marathon. Named one of the top Fall races, this flat loop course through Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is a fun way to get ready for cooler temperatures.
An Air Force jet flyover kicks-off and ends race day, which is impressive under any circumstance. The race is open to military personnel and civilians, and 15,000 runners take part each year. The race starts and finishes at the National Museum of the Air Force, and runners pass several historic sites, including the Air Force Institute of Technology, and the Wright Brothers Memorial Monument. The race weekend rounds out with a half-marathon, a10K and 5K for all levels of runners, and a sports and fitness expo.
The Marathon Sports and Fitness Expo takes place at the Wright State University Nutter Center. It’s a free event and open to the public. illumiNITE will be there showing off our fall and winter gear.
If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by our booth to say hello. Mention this blog post and you’ll get a gift and an entry to win a new illumiNITE jacket.
Good luck to all of the race participants!
